ABOUT THE GRANT
PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berhad (PMVSB) aims to provide support to our local communities within the Merdeka 118 precinct to re-configure your activities, create new content and provide opportunities for you to reset and restart – bounce back from any challenges you are currently facing and encourage self-sustainable approaches to build resilience towards future disruptions.
Applications are open to project proposals related to the development of community, sports, arts and heritage, and entrepreneurship activity around the Merdeka 118 precinct.

WHAT WE AIM TO ACHIEVE?

To enhance the appeal of the surrounding area of the Merdeka 118 precinct.

To celebrate the history of the surrounding area of the Merdeka 118 precinct.

To develop a resilient community of improved health, social and economic well-being.

To inject new and robust content into the surrounding area of the Merdeka 118 precinct.

To foster greater collaboration with surrounding communities of the Merdeka 118 precinct.
GRANT THEMES
Creating opportunities for artisans and cultural workers to be creative and to deliver high quality content in around Merdeka 118 precinct.
Types of projects:
– Capacity building and educational workshops for the arts community
– Community art programmes (i.e. exhibitions, art installation, murals)
– Innovative presentation via technology
– Preservation of traditional trades (i.e. publications, documentations)
Enhancing traditional and new businesses around Merdeka 118 precinct to be more resilient in facing future challenges.
Types of projects:
– Capacity building and entrepreneurial programmes
– Digitalisation of businesses
– Living heritage programmes for local cultural associations
– Space activation (i.e. festivals, events)
– Vocational training for vulnerable communities (i.e. B-40, PWD)
Providing access to educational support for various ages around Merdeka 118 precinct ranging from a wide range of tools, resources, and skills for learning
Types of projects:
– Educational programmes
– Educational spaces (i.e. libraries, tuition centres, makerspaces)
– Digital literacy courses (i.e. coding, website development)
- Literacy and numeracy programmes
- Problem-based learning
- Vocational training (i.e. carpentry, engineering, culinary, design, language courses)
Enriching fitness and wellness activities around Merdeka 118 precinct to develop healthy lifestyles and social integration.
Types of projects:
– Capacity building workshops (i.e. coaching, training, educational seminars)
– Digitalisation of content
– Exhibitions and talks
– Preservation of sports
– Publications
– Space activation (i.e. events, festival, monthly competition)
– Sports facility improvements, upgrades and enhancements

No idea is too small. We believe that with tactical support through this Grant, your effort will positively impact the community around Merdeka 118 precinct and foster growth.
Grant amount will be evaluated on a case-to-case basis and subject to review from the Review Panel and Board Approval. However, this grant is not applicable for a full grant. We encourage applicants to seek co-investment.

Yes, as long as they live in Malaysia and have a stake (businesses, properties or projects) around the Merdeka 118 Precinct.
Yes, please state the secured funding from other sources in the budget template of the application form and provide a letter of interest as evidence.
No, we only accept one proposal per organisation per grant cycle.
Yes, they can apply for the grant.
Projects must be completed within 12 months from time of grant award. However, if the project is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, kindly request for an extension of your grant ter.
No. The grant supplements the project. However, it does not support operational costs like administrative nor overhead costs.
